The Mind Of The Strategist: The Art of Japanese Business

Photobucketby Kenichi Ohmae

I have just finished reading this book by a Japanese executive who shows us that the keys to business success in the West are already proven techniques of the Far East. The author explains how integrating the three C’s (Customer, Competitor, and Company) in a strategic triangle can sustain a real competitive advantage.

Ohmae gives us his five steps for making strategic decisions: First you need a clear business domain, then determine cause and effect to select likely scenarios. Choose your options and pace according to your resources. Finally, stick with your strategy unless conditions change.

This book is divided into three parts: The art of strategic thinking, building successful strategies, and modern strategic realities. I think business managers at all levels can benefit from this guide, and develop profitable and creative strategies.
